As a frequent traveler, I have had my fair share of experiences with different airlines. From the moment I stepped on board, I was greeted with a warm smile and the traditional Fijian greeting of “bula.” And from that moment on, I knew that this flight was going to be an unforgettable one. So buckle up and get ready as I point out 5 reasons I would fly Fiji Airways again.
- The friendly Fijian smile
As I made my way to my seat, I was greeted by the friendly air hostess with a warm smile and the trademark Fijian greeting of “bula.” This simple gesture instantly made me feel at home and set the tone for the rest of the flight. The crew on Fiji Airways truly knows how to make their passengers feel welcomed and valued. As I settled into my seat, I couldn’t help but notice the genuine warmth and hospitality of the entire crew. Sure most flight attendants are welcoming but there something culturally authentic about it, it’s different.
2: Spacious Leg Room
One of the first things I noticed as I sat down on my seat was the spacious leg room. Even for a short person I always find it a little cramped but the Airbus 330-300 is quite spacious. It has a 2-4-2 seat configuration. For a three hour to four hour flight, it’s safe to say you’ll be comfortable throughout.
3: Comfortable Takeoff and Landing
As the plane took off, I was pleasantly surprised by how smooth and comfortable it was. The Airbus 330-300 is equipped with advanced technology, making the takeoff and landing extremely smooth and stable. This is a huge plus for anyone who experiences motion sickness during flights. I was able to sit back, relax, and enjoy the breathtaking views as we soared through the skies.
4: Extensive Duty-Free Shopping
One of the unique features of Fiji Airways is its extensive duty-free shopping options. From local handicrafts to international brands, there is something for everyone. I spent a good amount of time browsing through the products. It’s quite updated because it has the latest Drua merchandise too. The prices aren’t that bad too, and the variety of products was impressive.

5: WIFI (Although You Have to Pay)
Another highlight of my journey on Fiji Airways was the availability of WIFI on board. While you do have to pay for it, the connection was fairly strong and reliable. I was able to catch up on some work and stay connected with my work colleagues on the ground for much of the flight. It was a convenient and much-appreciated feature, even for flights like the one from Sydney to Nadi.

From the warm welcome to the comfortable seating, smooth takeoff and landing, extensive duty-free shopping, and WIFI availability, my first experience on Fiji Airways’ was truly memorable on. I highly recommend flying with Fiji Airways, and I can’t wait to book my next flight with them.
