Hardware Haus Ltd, the hardware arm of PNG’s homegrown retailer CPL Group, was awarded the Orgill Pinnacle Award by Orgill Inc. this year for its outstanding purchase of US branded products from Orgill in 2013. Orgill, Inc. is the world’s largest hardlines distributor and they are present in more than 60 countries.
The Pinnacle Award ceremony was held in Orlando, Florida, USA and three Hardware Haus representatives namely Marlon Ratnayake, David Foreman and Ravinesh Prasad along with CPL Group CEO Ravi Singh were there to receive this prestigious award.
The award was assessed on the criteria of Contribution to Retail Development in PNG and one million dollars purchase in 2013.
This was the first time for Hardware Haus Ltd to receive this award and they look forward to a new and challenging year when they open their Do-it-Yourself (DIY) style home improvement store at the new Waigani Central complex to be called Haus Depot.
Hardware Haus purchased USD 1.7M worth of products from Orgill in 2013 in anticipation of the opening of their 3,000-square-meter project to be opened at the new Central Waigani complex by mid year.
Orgill’s Territory Manager Prital Bansal said, “We give this award to recognize our customers for their commitment to develop retail in their country and who achieve One Million Dollars in purchases of US branded products from our company in a calendar year and our customer to win this Pinnacle Award for 2013 is Hardware Haus Ltd, PNG.”
CPL Group CEO Ravi Singh in response said “We are delighted with this award bestowed on us. Hardware Haus is part of CPL Group’s retail business and has 11 branches nationwide. The company aims to bring a more Do-it-Yourself (DIY) style and home improvement-based products and services to the PNG market.
