Air Niugini has issued a media release on requirements that must be met prior to boarding on flights from Port Moresby to Singapore, Hong Kong or Manila.
The most important requirement in that release is that evidence of a negative COVID Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test must be provided at the time of check-in. Like the “no mask no entry” policy, no evidence of a negative PCR test means no boarding of the flight.
The same requirement is already in place for all flights to Australia.
The PCR Test, the release says, is that it must be done within three days of the scheduled flight. Again, any test conducted outside of this period will not be accepted by the national carrier.
For clarity, Air Niugini stresses that the test must be a PCR Test and the rapid (or Gen-X test).
