In the centre Port Moresby’s business district is the Deloitte Tower. The building houses some of the country’s biggest companies like Westpac, Kina Group and Tobacco giant British American Tobacco. The naming rights of the building was secured by global accounting firm Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu and was built by Japanese construction company Kumagai Gumi.
Deloitte Tower was once the tallest commercial building in the city but that has been surpassed by the Grand Papua Hotel which is adjacent to it and only a short walk across Musgrave Street.
As the city develops into a more modern and vibrant one with infrastructure being built left right and centre, businesses in the city now have a much wider choice in terms of property leasing.
And as the commercial real estate market remains competitive, down at Harbour City the commercial developments too are propping up to meet the demand.
Deloitte Touche competitor PwC appears to be moving to the harbour with a still to be completed building being named after this global accounting firm.
As shown in the above photo, the PwC name is clearly visible and it’s only natural that the accounting firm will be relocating to the building it has secured rights for.
