The Papua New Guinea Paralympic Committee (PNGPC) recently received K50, 000, as sponsorship toward the development of PNG’s para athletes.
BSP Head of Channel Development, Sandra Fore, presented the bank’s support to the PNG Paralympics Committee President, Peter Curtain in Port Moresby.
“BSP has the passion to support and help make people living with a disability’s dream come true. This support is part of our longstanding commitment in supporting sports in PNG, and we are delighted to continue our support to further our elite para athletes prepare and represent our country in various international events that are scheduled this year,” Ms Fore said.
The Paralympic Committee’s recent achievements include winning a Gold, 3 Silver and 2 Bronze at the 2015 Pacific Games in Port Moresby and recently won two Gold and a Silver in the 4th China Open Athletics Championships 2016 in Beijing, China.
“We are pleased to support the Paralympic Committee since 2009, and will continue to do so,” Ms Fore added.
BSP has supported the PNG Paralympic Committee with a total of K600 000 inclusive of merchandises and administrative support over the years.
Mr Curtain, acknowledged BSP’s continued support saying, “PNGPC is grateful for the support the management and staff of the leading bank has given to athletes living with disability in their pursuit for sporting excellence.
He added that, “It is such financial support that has seen the development of para athletes and their participation in international events in the years.”
