    The New NCD Bus Routes

    LIFTING PUBLIC TRANSPORT STANDARD IN THE CITY

    PORT MORESBY: Having put mechanisms in place to lift public transport standard in the city, the much-anticipated inauguration for a public bus service in the city will be launched tomorrow (Tuesday 19, April 2022).

    NCD Governor, Hon. Powes Parkop said the mechanisms by NCDC Management and branding arm of the city, Amazing Port Moresby have enabled the inauguration so the service is delivered to the highest standards possible from the beginning.

    He added five buses have been allocated to serve the first-half out of the eight (8) routes as of Wednesday 20, April 22 at 6:30am.

    The mechanisms include security checks, training for drivers and crews, customer care, emergency response time, schedule, bus tickets, bustop marking and radio communications, branding and marketing to lift public transport system in the city.

    Governor Parkop said functioning cities around the world have effective, efficient, safe, reliable, affordable and best public transport so they thrive as modern cities.

    He reiterated that the Eda City Bus Service will service routes that are currently unserved by existing PMV Bus operators.

    BUS SCHEDULE: BUS ROUTE 1 Leaves Gerehu Bus-stop at 06: 30 am and arrives at Laloki 07:00 am and returns to the starting point. Along the way to and fro, its stopovers for pickups and drop-offs are Red Hills, Morata Swamp, 8-Mile Junction, 9-Mile Junction and Bomana Junction. The route will be served until 06:00 pm. (See diagram attached)

    BUS SCHEDULE: BUS ROUTE 2: (Two buses will service this route). The first one leaves Gerehu at 06: 30 am and arrives at Ela Beach at 07:00 am and returns to the starting point. Along the way to and fro, its stopovers for pickups and drop-offs are Baruni, Badihagwa and Ela Beach. The second one will leave Ela Beach at 06:30am to Gordons Courts Roundabout via Poreporena Highway. It will stopover at Sir Hubert Murray Stadium Bustop. The route will be served until 06:00 pm. (See diagram)


    BUS SCHEDULE: BUS ROUTE 3: Bus leaves Gerehu Main Bustop at 6:30am to Ela Beach via Sir William Skate Highway then to Magani Crescent road, Morata Junction, Waigani-Tokarara Bustop, Tokarara Market, Koura Way, Sir Hubert Murray Stadium and Ela Beach (see diagram).

    BUS SCHEDULE: BUS ROUTE 4: Another two buses will serve this route from 9-Mile (starting point). It will depart at 6:30am and arrive at Manu Bus Stop at 7:00am. Stopovers for pickup and drop-offs will be 8-Mile, Erima, 7-Mile, Saraga Market, Dogura Junction, Tuna Bay Junction, Taurama Barracks and Vadavada. (See Diagram)
