The National Capital District Commission is preparing to launch its own public bus service immediately after the Easter.
In a media release through its City Sivarai publication, the city authority is currently preparing the ”mechanism that will ensure the service is delivered to the highest standards possible from the beginning.”
Governor Parkop outlined the routes in which the service will operate will be eight which are currently not included by current PMV operators.
“NCDC has been running bus service for school children in the city and we are confident the city bus service will deliver great outcome for the city and for our people once we begin operation in the first three confirmed routes. The other five is yet to be finalised.”

Acting City Manager, Ravu Frank said from the eight official routes approved by the Road Transport Authority, his working committee has agreed to have three routes to be in operation first once logistics are ready.
The three routes confirmed to be in operation straight after the launch are:
Route 1: Gerehu to Laloki via 9-Mile Roundabout
Route 2: 9-Mile to Manu and return back to 9-Mile
Route 3: Gerehu- Baruni- Badihagwa-Ela Beach- Koura Way- Waigani-Gerehu.
