Consistent with the SOE Controller’s Notice dated 23rd September, 2020, the Papua New Guinea Immigration & Citizenship Authority (ICA) implemented the ‘Short Term Extension’ process to extend visa’s that were outside of the normal process for non-citizens who were affected by the closure of the international borders due to COVID-19 Global Pandemic.
Now with the opening of the international borders, ICA wishes to inform the General Public that this arrangment will cease to operate effectively from 01st September, 2022. All non-citizens currently in the country on short-term visa’s must prepare to leave the counrty on or before their visas expire. Penalties will apply for breach of this instruction.
