BSP PNG | Certified Practising Accountants (CPA) PNG in partnership with Bank South Pacific (BSP) has successfully completed necessary security tests to launch its e-commerce Payment page on its website and will complete its user acceptance test by next month. It is expected that CPA PNG’s own IPG will be operational after May 2020.

Electronic -Commerce is revolutionizing the way organisations are doing business. It will be convenient and easy to do payments for CPA PNG products such as membership renewals, examination registration, CPD registration and conference registration. Members can purchase any services from their home at any time of day or night. The best thing about it is buying options that are quick, convenient and user-friendly with the ability to transfer funds online.

“CPA PNG is eager to support organisations and businesses transform and grow in alignment with global standards and best-practices and this is an enhancement to our service delivery,” said Yuwak Tau, Executive Director of CPA PNG. Formerly known as Papua New Guinea Association of Accountants (PNGAA) and PNG

Institute of Accountants Inc. (PNGIA), CPA PNG is no stranger to transformation, providing value added services to their network of over 7,000 members, the professionals and the wider public for more than 40 years

Mr Tau further explained that CPA PNG introduced EFTPoS as a form of payment in 2010 with the vision of investing in a comprehensive web-based system to facilitate membership data, online billing, interaction, content and asset management.

In 2019, CPA partnered with BSP to provide Internet Payment Gateway (IPG) to add to their website. BSP is pleased to announce that CPA PNG now has an IPG for e- Commerce. CPA PNG will launch its IPG on its website after May 2020.

An IPG is a merchant service provided by an e-Commerce application that authorises secure and real time online card payment processing for e-businesses and online retailers on their websites or apps.

“To implement a world class Member Relationship Management system to support and develop CPAs in PNG is an achievement for the Accountancy profession in PNG. Through automation, and self-service by members, utilising CPA PNG’s own IPG gives us distinctive advantage and efficiencies over the old ways of doing things”, said Mr. Tau.
