Bank South Pacific continues to invest in health, education and supporting wellbeing of local communities in Papua New Guinea through its support of the Kokoda Track Foundation (KTF)’s College.
The bank once again committed K105, 000 to the Foundation as platinum sponsors in backing the operation of FODE program and health professional development and upskilling activities delivered at the Kokoda College.
Since the partnership in 2017, the college has delivered aid and development activities in the areas of education, health, livelihood and leadership to more than 20 communities in Kokoda.
BSP Rlg. Deputy General Manager, Retail Sales & Customer Service Peter Komon when presenting the cheque said BSP is pleased to support the programs not only because of our commitment to invest in the human capital of the country but also because of the dedicated staff and management of the program despite the challenging geographic location.
“We acknowledge the support this organisation in developing and delivering lasting changes in the communities. We are also pleased to contribute meaningfully to the development of communities in ensuring basic services are accessible,” said Mr Komon
KTF’s General Manager Anthony Nagul thanked BSP for the support to the college and acknowledged the banks partnership in helping to deliver these vital services in the local community.
“We are delighted that BSP continues their generous support the operations of Kokoda College in Kou Kou, Oro Province. Our partnership has gone from strength to strength over the past three years. With BSP’s support, KTF has delivered a range of education offerings increasing the pipeline of Community Health Workers in the region, through Flexible & Open Distance Education (FODE) and health-specific training,” said Mr Nagul.
“BSP’s 2019 contribution will assist KTF’s FODE program, which currently has 125 students enrolled upgrading their qualifications to Year 12 standard, and health professional development and upskilling activities delivered at the college. We simply could not do what we do without our corporate partners BSP.”
