National superannuation company, Nasfund, has welcomed the appointment of two female professionals to their board of trustees.
Chairman of the board Charles Vee, in a media release issued today, announced the appointment of Julianne Leka-Maliaki and Doris Gedare as director and secretary respectively on the board of NASFUND.
Leka-Maliaki, replaces replaces former director Hulala Tokome as an independent director. With over 26 years experience in policy and trade investment facilitation, Maliaki-Leka is responsible for the management and oversight of key projects under the Australian Government’s Economic & Inclusive Growth Program.
We now have a good gender mix of three female directors on the board, the other two being Florence Willie and Tamzin Wardley.
This reflects the board’s recognition of the experience value and worthy contribution women directors bring to the board.
Previous company secretary Jack Parina’s resignation has paved the way for Gedare to be appointed secretary of the board. A lawyer by profession with over 20 years experience in the legal field, Gedare is no stranger to NASFUND having served as the company’s Manager Legal for the past 6 years.
In welcoming Gedare, Chairman Vee said the board was “confident Ms Gedare will continue to build on the good work commenced by her predecessor and look forward to her contribution“.
