The National Government will be launching its SME Policy and Master Plan and BSP is supporting the event with K50, 000.

The launch will be held at Sir John Guise Stadium on Thursday and up to 500 local SMEs are expected to witness it.

BSP Area Manager Southern Region, Nuni Kulu, presented the sponsorship to Minister for Trade, Commerce and Industry, Hon. Richard Maru today.

Minister Maru said all financial institutions must collaborate with the Government to help provide access to finance, training and development for local SMEs.

He also applauded BSP for its continued support towards the SME sector.

Ms Kulu noted that BSP has been helping the growth of SMEs through its products and services.

BSP has over 15,000 SME customers. In 2015, it provided K37 million in loans to its SME customers under its Smart Business Product.

“We have a commitment to PNG SMEs by providing financial solutions and also supporting Government initiatives,” Ms Kulu said.
