BSP PNG | Bank South Pacific (BSP) today presented a cheque of K100, 000 to the Kimbe Cutters Rugby League Team in support of their 2019 Digicel Cup campaign.
BSP backed the West New Britain Rugby League Franchise Semi Professional team as a major sponsor for three (3) years from 2019 to 2021 with K100, 000 annually.
Governor of West New Britain Province Sasindran Muthuvel was the guest of honour at the ceremony to receive the cheque from the BSP Kimbe Branch Manager Betty Posangat at the Sasindran Muthuvel Stadium in Kimbe.
Upon receiving the Cheque, Governor Muthuvel said, it is a great pleasure having BSP on board as a major of Kimbe Cutters sponsor. “We are privileged to have our very own commercial bank supporting sports in the community.”
“Though Rugby League is not new to us, it is a new team in the competition and we are grateful for the key support received that will be instrumental in helping the Team in developing skills and share the positive values of the sport,” Governor Muthuvel said.
Ms Posangat congratulated the team saying, “BSP is proud to support the team at this level. The backing is an exciting way to be connected and responsive to the West New Britain community. The gesture towards the team is also a reiteration of support that bank provides to communities it operates in,” said Ms Posangat.
Chairman of the West New Britain Rugby League Franchise Board Dominic Kile on behalf of the players also extended their sincere thanks to the bank for the support.
The Team is looking forward for a challenging season debut 2019.
