A Memorable Stay at a New Guest House on Karkar Island

A newly established guest house on Karkar Island recently celebrated a milestone: hosting its very first Airbnb guest!

Christoph Fink, a traveler from Austria, stayed from November 22nd to 26th, leaving a lasting impression on his hosts and the local community.

Christoph’s visit coincided with his 38th birthday, celebrated with local beer—affectionately called “green cans”. It was a warm and joyous occasion, a reflection of the special atmosphere the guest house seeks to provide.

During his stay, Christoph also participated in a significant family event. He helped deliver food for the haus cry of the hosts’ late niece, a deeply meaningful tradition in Papua New Guinea.

In his heartfelt remarks, Christoph emphasized the importance of supporting family and friends, especially during challenging times. His words resonated with those present and showcased his kindness and understanding of local customs.

Christoph expressed his love for the unique vibe of Pero Pero, the guest house’s location.

The guest house team is incredibly grateful for Christoph’s visit, describing him as a down-to-earth and thoughtful guest. His appreciation for the culture, his willingness to connect with the community, and his kind words left a lasting impression.

Reflecting on this first hosting experience, the guest house is reminded of why they began this journey: to share the beauty of Karkar Island and create meaningful connections with people from all over the world. Christoph’s stay has set the tone for what they hope will be many more unforgettable guest experiences.

“Thank you, Christoph, for being such an incredible guest. We miss you already and hope to see you again someday!”
