September 16 this year was like any other year in Papua New Guinea. Colour and culture was the order of the day and us here at Skerah are always excited as it gives us an opportunity not just to snap the moments but to appreciate and enjoy the feeling of uniqueness of being a Papua New Guinean.
During the course of the day, various events were organised by the National Capital District the major attraction being the independence street stall at the Paga Hill rignroad.
Thousands attended to witness cultural singing and dancing, food stalls, merchandisers, jumping castle and of course the battle of the bands.
The event was started on the 15th and followed through the next day.
