India Association of PNG made a donation of K10,000 on 28 October 2018 to the Cameron Secondary School, Alotau .The donation took place at Lamana Hotel with representatives from the Association and Mr.Roy Moore (Chairman of finance, Cameron Secondary School).
India Association has been supporting the school since 2011 and has significantly assisted in the school’s transformation. The school now has one of the best school libraries in the country, as well as an outstanding music room. Grade 12 dorms for both male and female have also been refurbished to a high standard .
Aside from the school library, India Association has also helped with the school’s new agricultural department, a computer lab and the school clinic. The Association says it is committed to continue the support of the school in terms of refurbishment and other infrastructure.
The India Association of PNG has been in existence for 37 years and this year marking its 38th.
One of the association’s primary objectives is to support local PNG communities.
On average the Association donates approximately PGK200,000 every year to different NGO’S, hospitals, education institutes etc. One of the key areas of focus is the ‘Kids & Maternal health AND Education’.
