BSP BACKS AUDITORS CONFRENCE
Port Moresby, 23rd October, 2017 |BSP continues to invest in the professional development of Papua New Guineans through its support of the Institute of Internal Auditors (PNGIIA) Conference.
The bank maintained a silver sponsorship valued at K15, 000, which will go toward supporting the meeting that is scheduled for the 30th-31st of October at the Gateway Hotel in Port Moresby.
Joanna Tupou, President of the PNGIIA PNG Chapter said, “BSP’s support for the 13th PNGIIA Conference is welcomed and we applaud the bank for the continued support and partnership.”
“2017 marks the 13th year since the establishment of PNGIIA. BSP has always played a leading role in supporting the work of PNGIIA – For this, we are grateful,” she added.
BSP Audit Manager Agnes Arua when presenting the cheque reaffirmed the bank’s continued support and said “BSP is happy to support a professional body that promotes international standards of best practice.”
“Business processes evolve with strategic initiatives, technology and risks which challenges the audit profession. The annual conferences assist auditors by keeping them abreast on changes in auditing standards, acquire knowledge and to adopt practice,” she added.
The conference themed “Success a Moving Target-Move Smart” will feature presentations from various overseas and local speakers covering a range of topics including internal auditing, the corporate strategy through internal auditing and current national economic growth.
Experienced professionals will share their experience to challenge the Audit professionals to face the challenges confronted and envision at how internal auditing can add value to corporate governance, transparency and accountability by changing and shaping an organisation.
