The building that will play a key role in the 2018 APEC conference officially had its ground breaking ceremony today at Ela Beach.
Eal Beach itself will be undergoing a major redevelopment and one of the prominent features that will be part of this redevelopment is the APEC Haus.
Located at the old Sea Park area, the new building has been designed to feature the sail of the Lagatoi to specifically recognize and acknowledge the Motu-Koita Culture and Hiri Trade.
As you can see on the images above and below, the building is expected to be an iconic landmark for the APEC Leaders and visitors and according to Minister for Sports Mr Justin Tkatchenko, the building will be “providing and offer(sic) conference and general facilities of world standard“.
It is uncertain as to what the building will be used for post APEC 2018.
