Port Moresby residents are encouraged to celebrate World Environment Day at the Port Moresby Nature Park come Saturday 3rd June, 2017.
Themed “Connecting People to Nature,’ the celebration will include an Expo between 9am to 3pm featuring numerous organisations committed to the environment. There will also be face painting, arts & crafts, Environmental stalls, food stalls, games, prizes and the BSP inflatable obstacle course, which promises to be a fun filled day packed with activities for children and aimed to reinforce and promote the GO GREEN message in caring for and respecting the environment and the world we live in.
The event commemorates World Environment Day which falls on 5th June, and this annual event is part of Nature Park’s on-going activities in educating and providing awareness about PNG’s vast flora and fauna and its conservation.
“This BSP-Port Moresby Nature Park partnership has been in existence for the last 5 years and this year we look forward to another 20 organisations joining us to spread the message on how we can save our planet,” said Michelle McGeorge, General Manager, Port Moresby Nature Park.
Ms McGeorge said the Entry fees will apply: Adults K7.00, Children (3yrs-12yrs) K3.00 and Students (with ID) K4.00.
“It will be a fun-filled day and Port Moresby residents are encouraged to come along and enjoy the activities and most importantly see and appreciate the habitats of the park and its lush, cool and colourful flora.”
According to BSP Head of Marketing & PR, Gorethy Semi, this World Environment Day Celebration is part of BSP’s Go Green Calendar of events. Other events such as the Earth Hour and the BSP Go Green School Clean-up event in the region are part of the Bank’s support to the environment it operates in.
BSP Brand Ambassador and swim sensation Ryan Pini will be present to participate in the celebration as well.
