BSP Finance lights up Iobuna Kouba Primary School

  • A worthy community project was delivered by BSP’s subsidiary company, BSP Finance Ltd,  to Iobuna Kouba Primary School in Central Province.

    The rural primary school was a proud recipient of a fully kitted solar lighting pack delivered and installed by BSP Finance Ltd. The completed project was handed over to the school on Friday November 9th, 2018, by staff and management of the asset finance company.

    The installation of solar lights for classrooms, staff rooms and the school grounds will light up the school that caters for about 800 students, from Elementary to Grade 8.

    The project was delivered at a cost of K25, 000 and the Installation included 8 x 120w 12V solar panels and 10 Lights with solar LED bulbs, switches and distribution lines and a solar generator as the power saving source.

    BSP Finance country Manager, Brett Tayler thanked the school for welcoming the project and urged the community to look after the facility.

    “We are committing ourselves to equipping local schools with the tools they need for better education. We believe that providing Solar lights to schools will help improve literacy rates as well as an increase number of student intake into Tertiary Education,” he said.

    Head Master of Iobuna Kouba Primary School Mr Buka said “Though we are located along the power grid, we experience a lot of power disruption. But with this new lights installed in our staff room we are confident that it will enable our teachers to work after hours and use equipment’s like laptops and printers to prepare lessons for our children.”

    “Solar light for the school will be cost effective and eco-friendly and more importantly we will have a reliable back power source for the school. We thank BSP for the assistance and for choosing Iobuna Kouba Primary School,” Mr Buka said.
