Thank you for taking time to join us for the opening of Boroko Motors new Fixed Operations Centre.

I would like to make a special welcome to our guests who have travelled from Overseas.  From Isuzu Motors Japan, Mr Nakata – Senior Director, Mr Yamada – Senior Sales and Mr Oichiai – Sales Manager.  From Isuzu Australia, Mr John Borland and from Ace Creation Japan, Mr Jin Wantanabe and Ms Ayako Sueyoshi.  We do appreciate you taking time out of your busy schedules to join us on this special occasion.

Boroko Motors for the last few years have been spread over 4 sites in Lae with 2 workshops, 2 parts departments and vehicle storage and display spread over 3 sites.  This obviously brought with it logistical problems, it added expense to the business and also caused some confusion for some clients.

The company purchased this 5 acre site and have now completed the amalgamation of the light and heavy vehicle workshops in the far 2400sqm shed, the Boroko Motors and Highway Automotive Parts Departments in this 1900sqm shed and are joined by our Panel and Fabrication Departments in the centre 1600sqm – this includes a full truck paint booth.  On our Milfordhaven Road site, we have New and Used Vehicle Sales, our Tyre Department and Budget Rent a Car.

Boroko Motors celebrated its 50th Anniversary last year and in that time have seen a lot of movements both good and bad in the economy, although the economy is suffering a bit of a hang over after the LNG construction boom, I think this large investment Boroko Motors has made in this project shows the confidence we have that things will improve again, especially with the next round of major projects in the pipeline.

We are very proud of how the new Lae Fixed Operations site has turned out and I would like to thank Ken and Darren Rowen and the team at Nosrider for a very smooth build.  I would also like to thank Boroko Motors Bob Moore, who project managed it for BM here in Lae.

Please take the opportunity to have a look around before you leave and I thank you again for coming along this evening.
